Frequently asked questions
Is a Tally course enough to get a job?
It is usually enough to get shortlisted for entry-level roles, but rarely enough to be selected. Most applicants hold a Tally certificate, so the decision shifts to GST, TDS, reconciliation and Excel.
What should I learn after Tally?
In order of return: GST return filing, TDS, bank reconciliation, payroll basics including PF and ESI, and Excel for reporting.
Is Tally still relevant in 2026?
Yes. It remains the most widely used accounting package in India, and not knowing it is a genuine disadvantage. It is simply no longer a differentiator on its own.
Should I learn Tally or Zoho Books?
Learn Tally first, because more employers use it, then understand cloud accounting as small businesses increasingly adopt it.
How long does it take to become job-ready in accounting?
Adding GST, TDS, payroll and reporting to Tally typically takes a few months in a structured programme, compared with a year or more of applying and stalling at interviews.
